Our taxaholic Treasurer has been forced by the Prime Minister into his fourth humiliating backdown over his Budget.

The backdown is welcome, but it is embarrassing that certainty and confidence has been jeopardised for so many businesses because we have an out-of-his-depth Treasurer.

The Treasurer’s Budget now lays in tatters.

Because the Albanese government can’t kick its spending addiction, it keeps stoking inflation and taxing Australians.

The Treasurer doesn’t understand the economy, small business or innovative businesses.

Those inside the Albanese government have described the Treasurer’s incompetence as “the elephant in the room”. That’s kind.

The only thing the Albanese government is addicted to more than tax and lying, is the Prime Minister humiliating his Treasurer.
