Residents of Glen Eira deserve strong, reliable infrastructure. But when Labor ripped $100 million out of our community, we are still living with the consequences.

One of the most affected projects is the Glen Huntly Road Green Space initiative. Glen Huntly Road should be a vibrant shopping strip all throughout the day and all throughout the year. But right now, it lacks the essential tree coverage needed to make that a reality.

Before the last election, we committed $125,000 to invest in tree coverage to beautify the street, improve community amenity, and act as a carbon sink. Glen Eira Council wants to invest in Glen Huntly’s future, but they need federal support.

This investment would ensure Glen Huntly has usable community open space, an adequate urban tree canopy, improved pedestrian comfort, and reduced heat island effect during the hot summer months.

We call on the Federal Government to step up and fund the Glen Huntly Road Green Space project. Glen Huntly shouldn’t be left behind.
