Deliver an MRI for Sandy Hospital

Labor pulled a cruel health hoax on our community to get through an election.

We were told Sandy Hospital was granted an MRI license for 1 July 2025. In fact, one was already granted for 2027. It was bought forward to give an election announcement with the full knowledge there was no MRI machine.

Departmental documents, released under FOI, show the Minister was warned that:

• There was no MRI at Sandringham Hospital

• Granting a license was “relatively simple from a costing perspective”, probably because there was no MRI

Time to fix it. The Federal Government should stop the health hoax and actually fund an MRI machine for Sandringham Hospital, so we can use the MRI license granted.
