I've always understood my job is to put Goldstein on the national radar and get the best deal for the community from Canberra. That’s why Goldstein got more Federal government grant funding during my time than any other period in its history.

In 2019 we delivered Goldstein’s first Medicare-funded MRI license at Cabrini hospital in Brighton. Cabrini was the only tertiary hospital in the electorate at the time that had an MRI machine.

For years Bayside Council had wanted to relocate their decaying netball courts from their land at Thomas Street, Hampton to Wangarra Road, Sandringham. In 2019 Tim successfully secured $4.7 million of Federal funding to support this relocation. Bayside Council subsequently voted to move the location after Federal funding was provided.

Delivered commuter infrastructure

Glen Eira had approved plans for commuter car parking upgrades but couldn’t fund them. Bayside Council sought funding from State and Federal governments for commuter car parking upgrades. Following submissions from both Councils we secured funding for both Councils. For Glen Eira it was the largest grant in the Council's history and was warmly welcomed by the Council. The funding was passed in multiple Federal Budgets and exceeded $100 million, but was ripped out following the election of a Federal Labor government in 2022. In December 2024 Bayside Council moved a formal resolution seeking Federal funding again.

Delivered for Elsternwick Park (Yalukit Willam)

Elsternwick Park (now Yalukit Willam) is the gateway to Goldstein from the city on the Nepean Highway. Bayside Council committed a major investment to turn it into an urban sanctuary for plants, wildlife and residents, and a wetlands that cleans water from Elster Creek before it drains into Port Phillip; so the health of Elsternwick Park helps Elster Creek, the wetlands and park and local beach health. We fought and secured $6 million to deliver this important project.
