Three years ago the Albanese government abolished the Australian Building and Construction Commission. When they did, they let the CFMEU loose and let criminal gangs, bikie gangs and organised crime in.

It got so bad that the CFMEU was put under “Administration”. They claimed it was the strongest possible course of action. 15 months on whistleblowers are now saying the corruption is worse.

In some cases staff appointed under the Administration have had to be sacked under new allegations of corruption and receiving cartel kickbacks. The Administrator is taking no action when CFMEU officials meet with John Setka and Mick Gatto. And the head of the Victorian CFMEU, Zach Smith, advised the Minister responsible for the Administration.

CFMEU cartel kickbacks are paid through higher costs on first home buyers and taxpayers on public projects.

There must be an inquiry into the CFMEU’s corruption oversight, but the Albanese government and Greens are blocking it. They are choosing cover-up over accountability.

We, the undersigned, demand a full parliamentary inquiry into the Administration of the CFMEU - to expose the failures, hold the Government to account, restore integrity to the construction industry, and stop the cartel kickbacks.

Sign now to force an inquiry. It’s time to end the corruption and the cartel kickbacks:
