Local Sporting Champions Grant Program – Now Open

The Australian Sports Commission’s Local Sporting Champions (LSC) and Local Para Champions (LPC) grant programs provide financial assistance to eligible young athletes, coaches, and officials representing their state, nation, or community at recognised state, national, or international championships.

These programs are designed to help families manage the significant costs associated with travel and competition, particularly where financial barriers might otherwise hinder participation.

 

Who Can Apply?

Local Sporting Champions (LSC):

  • Athletes, coaches, and officials aged 12–18 competing in eligible competitions.

Local Para Champions (LPC):

  • Athletes, coaches, and officials aged 12–24 with a disability, representing at official sporting championships.

 

Grant Amounts

  • Grants range from $500 up to $1000.
  • Funding is assessed based on factors such as distance travelled and level of competition.

 

Key Dates

  • Round three opened: 1 November 2025
  • Applications close: 31 January 2026
  • Notification of outcomes: From March 2026
