Tim Wilson MP is pleased to announce that Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open in Goldstein for Round 10 of the Stronger Communities Programme, and invites eligible local organisations to put forward suitable projects for consideration.

Organisations that are not incorporated entities (e.g. some local Scouting groups) may be able to participate through sponsorship by an incorporated organisation (e.g. Scouts Victoria). The sponsoring organisation will need to complete the EOI on your behalf.

The programme provides grants for projects that strengthen local communities, improve community infrastructure and encourage greater community participation. Grants are available from $2,500 up to $20,000, for projects with a total cost of no more than $50,000.

Eligible activities are outlined in the Grant Guidelines, and may include projects such as:

  • building, fitting out, altering or extending community facilities and sports grounds
  • improving disability access and amenities
  • providing women’s facilities at public facilities or sports grounds
  • purchasing and installing defibrillators and other first aid equipment
  • purchasing and installing ICT or audio-visual equipment that delivers community and social benefits
  • installing energy-efficient appliances or systems, renewable energy sources and energy storage
  • improving community infrastructure to manage heat stress or support native plants and wildlife

If your organisation has a project that could make a practical difference in our community, we encourage you to review the Grant Guidelines and consider submitting an EOI.

The Stronger Communities Programme Round 10 Grant Guidelines are below, as well as a factsheet and FAQ for your reference. The Goldstein Electorate Office is available to help you understand the programme and determine whether a project you are considering fits within the guidelines. This is a closed grant - organisations must submit an EOI to the Goldstein Electorate Office as a first step.

Under the programme, EOIs are considered as part of a local community consultation process. Projects identified through that process are then nominated to the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, which assesses eligibility and invites eligible organisations to submit a formal grant application. Final funding decisions are made through the Australian Government grant process.

It is important to review the Grant Guidelines first to ensure your organisation and project are eligible as part of this grant round.
