Royal Commission into the Bondi terrorist attack

Australia needs a Commonwealth Royal Commission into the Bondi terrorist attack.

The Bondi terrorist attack killed 15 Australians on Sunday, 14 December 2025, and deliberately targeted a Jewish community festival - Hanukkah by the sea.

It should never have happened, and we must ensure it can never happen again. That is why we need a Commonwealth Royal Commission.

A Royal Commission establishes the facts to inform our response to ensure we do everything to stop it being repeated. Only a Royal Commission that assesses every failure will do justice to their tragedy that unfolded.

A Royal Commission is the only mechanism capable of exposing systemic failures across all levels of government, law enforcement, intelligence agencies and public institutions.

A Royal Commission must assess the events leading up to this tragedy, the events that led to the attacks, that surrounded them, and what has followed.

Australians were promised security, vigilance and leadership. Instead, serious questions remain unanswered about government preparedness, intelligence failures, radicalisation, border controls and public safety.

Australians deserve truth, accountability and action.
