An elected Liberal and Nationals Government will contribute $2.75 million towards the construction of new change rooms, social areas, and storage facilities as part of a planned redevelopment of EMC Fox Pavilion at McKinnon Reserve.

Liberal Candidate for Goldstein, Tim Wilson has secured this commitment to ensure that all players at St. Paul’s Football Club can enjoy modern facilities and that female footballers continue to feel welcome playing the sport they love.

“I’ve been listening to the St. Paul’s Football Club, its players and local families and know how important this project is, to continue to encourage participation in local sport, particularly amongst women, which this project will deliver.”

“The growth in women’s footy is essential for the health and wellbeing of the community, and to ensure that junior players can aspire to be the next generation of AFLW stars – and that is what we are backing today – gender should be no barrier”, Mr Wilson said.

“McKinnon Reserve is an important local facility for our community, and we want it to continue to be a welcoming space for local athletes to socialise, train and compete.”

“This funding will be a significant investment in the wellbeing of our community in McKinnon and across Glen Eira. It will deliver accessible change facilities, upgraded social rooms, and expanded storage so this pavilion meets the current and future needs of the community.” Cr Simone Zmood, Mayor of Glen Eira stated.

This commitment is part of the Liberals and Nationals’ plan to strengthen local communities and get Australia back on track.
