The Coalition is respectfully announcing it will support the passage of the Fair Work Amendment (Baby Priya’s) Bill 2025, recognising the need for clear, compassionate arrangements for families experiencing the loss of a baby.

Shadow Minister for Small Business, Industrial Relations and Employment Tim Wilson MP said the Bill is a necessary step to ensure parents receive dignity and certainty at an unimaginably difficult time.

“Losing a child is a grief no family should carry alone,” Mr Wilson said.

“I am proud to support this reform and it is an important step to ensure compassion and dignity are afforded to grieving parents.”

“This Bill honours Priya’s memory, and the lived experience of her family and other families too. It makes sure that what you endured will not be repeated for other families. That is a legacy of love and it is a gift to the whole Australian community.”
