Childcare should make family life easier, giving parents the confidence to work, children the opportunity to thrive and families genuine choice about what works for them.

But for many families, the system is not delivering. Rising fees, long waitlists, limited flexibility and workforce shortages are making it harder to find reliable, affordable care. At the same time, educators and local providers are under growing pressure to maintain quality while managing higher costs and increasing regulation.

Join me for the next Democracy, Dialogue & Coffee: A Childcare System That Works for You. Together, we’ll ask whether Australia’s childcare system is making life easier or harder for families, and what practical changes would make the greatest difference.

We’ll be joined by Senator Matt O’Sullivan, Shadow Minister for Choice in Childcare and Early Learning, and Madeline Simmonds, co-founder of Childcare Choice, for a practical discussion on affordability, availability, workforce pressures, quality and family choice.

This will be an interactive conversation shaped by the experiences, questions and ideas of parents, carers, educators, providers and local employers.

Families, young children & prams are most welcome - We'll have staff to help bring prams upstairs.
All attendees must RSVP for security reasons. Registration will be checked at the door.
Coffee & breakfast bites available at café prices.
