“In the Albanese economic sinkhole public sector wages and jobs growth continues to outpace the private sector,” said Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations, Employment and Small Business, Tim Wilson.

Mr Wilson’s comments follow the release of the latest ABS wage price index data that showed private sector wages at 3.2%, down from 3.5% a year earlier, while wages in the public sector rose to 3.8%, up from 3.7% a year earlier.

This data comes on top of analysis that shows that 8 in 10 jobs are created from public spending or in the public service.

“Australia’s economy is slowly sinking as the private sector is being outpaced by public spending—and public spending is just debt spending that is driving up inflation.”
