House of Representatives

The Ormond Amateur Football Club has been part of our community since 1931, making it the second oldest suburban footy club in the VAFA. Saturday was a big day for the Monders, with two sides in grand finals and one piece of history. The Monders Reserves brought home the club's first ever women's premiership, with a score of five goals and eight behinds to three goals and nine behinds—38 to 27. Congratulations to everybody who was part of this history. Congratulations to the coaches, Oscar Persson and Steve Harrison; to the team manager, Tali Erman; and to the president, Jason Burt, and secretary, Malcolm Roach, who backed the women's program and kept the club strong enough for a day like this. We also need to celebrate those people involved in the training. Congratulations Emma Dawson, Emily Liu, Sarah Radlow, Bella Milne, Lani Hammam, Lily Bayes, Eleni Balassis, Meg Fisher, Mikaela Sykes, Jacklyn Honey, Courtney Gaze-Persson, Larissa Lewis, Soph Coleman, Charlotte Fisher, Sienna Orr, Amelia Morcom, Anita Krapivsky, Taz Elwin, Teagan Engelander, Sasha Holles, Abhi Vijayanandan, Izzy Lewis, Akeisha O'Neil and Eilam Harel. This is the first women's premiership in the club's history. It will not be the last. Congratulations to them for their incredible achievement.
