Goldstein Future Leaders Speech Competition
The Goldstein Future Leaders Speech Competition is a public speaking and speechwriting competition for secondary students in the Federal Electorate of Goldstein. It provides an opportunity for students to submit a speech on the values of our community.
The best entry will get the opportunity to watch their speech delivered on the floor of the House of Representatives. This is a unique opportunity to have a future leader’s voice recorded into the official record of the nation – the Parliamentary Hansard.
The theme for the 2017 competition is: Taking our community’s values to the nation.
To be eligible students must be a current secondary school student living in, or attending a school, in the Goldstein electorate. Entries must be between 120 and 150 words (maximum), and submitted electronically ([email protected]) or in hard copy, along with a signed Consent & Release Form and an Entry Form to 368 Centre Road, Bentleigh VIC 3204 by 5.00pm, 1st October 2017.
Once all entries are submitted they will be assessed with an event held in October to announce and read the ten best entries. The student who submitted the best entry will then be flown to Canberra to watch their speech read in the House of Representatives by myself toward the end of 2017, and a tour of our nation’s Parliament.
Please download the consent and release form to be submitted with your competition entry. The form can be found in the link here.
