Congratulations s to Jake from Sandringham East Primary School on being awarded the Goldstein Medal

Congratulations s to Jake from Sandringham East Primary School on being awarded the Goldstein Medal.

Jake is a self-directed, entrepreneurial and influential leader. In Level 4 Jake learnt about endangered animals. He then organised a group of students to help him make and sell necklaces, with proceeds going to WWF.

This year, Jake created ‘The Animal Council’, a club that meets during lunchtimes as frequently as possible, to organise events. Jake aims to keep the Council members motivated by giving out small awards and rewards.

Amongst some of this years’ projects are:

  • During the term 1 holidays Jake organised a 1 on 1 basketball competition.
  • He has currently been working on a school community Karaoke Night. Jake put a proposal to School Council, which was not accepted. However, Jake is resilient and determined in his efforts to raise funds for WWF. He has been working to re-vamp the proposal, hoping it will be accepted in 2018.
  • Jake is also currently organising a ‘Vegetarian for a Week’ campaign, to raise the profile of the benefits of eating less meat, highlighting benefits to individuals and the planet.
